Draft

A working draft for BeanWise and its lawyer to review. It is not in force yet, and anything marked CLIENT TO CONFIRM is still an open question.

Terms of sale

Last updated 22 Sep 2026 · Draft

These are the terms for booking a seat at a BeanWise class on this website. The short version: you are buying a seat at one dated class in Bengaluru, the price includes GST, your booking is confirmed once your payment is confirmed, and a real person at the office handles any change you need.

Who you're booking with

Classes on beanwiseacademy.com are sold by [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: registered legal name of the business that sells these classes], [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: company, LLP or proprietorship], registered at [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: registered address]. GSTIN [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: GSTIN of the business taking the payment].

Classes are taught at The BeanWise Lab, 218, 2nd Floor, Prestige Center Point, Edward Rd, Vasanth Nagar, Bengaluru 560 052.

You can reach us at [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: support email address] or [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: support phone or WhatsApp number, and the hours it is answered], or through our contact page.

In these terms, "we" and "BeanWise" mean that business, and "you" means the person making the booking.

What you're buying

A booking is one or more seats at one class. A class is one dated sitting of a course, at the date, time and place shown at checkout and on your ticket. A class that runs over two days is still one booking, and it covers both days.

Each seat is for one named person. You give us a name for every seat at checkout, and those names go on the roll for that class.

What each course covers is described on its course page.

Who can book

Anyone with a working email address and a mobile number can book. There is no account to create and no password to set.

You can book seats for other people. If you do, you are confirming that they know you are booking for them and are happy for us to have their name for the roll, and that you will pass on anything we send you about the class.

Online, you can book up to ten seats at a time, as long as the class has them. For a bigger group or a team, talk to us.

Everyone attending must be at least [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: minimum age, and whether under 18s may attend with a parent or guardian].

Prices and GST

Prices are per seat, in Indian rupees, and include GST, currently at 18%. Before you pay, the checkout shows the total and splits it into the price before tax and the tax itself.

If you add a company GSTIN registered outside Karnataka, the tax is shown as IGST rather than CGST and SGST. The total stays the same.

We work out what you pay from the price we have set for that class. It is fixed on your booking the moment you book, so a later change to the price never changes what you paid.

The email we send when your booking is confirmed shows what you paid and the GST in it. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: when and by whom a GST tax invoice is issued, and whether company buyers receive one showing their GSTIN]

Paying

Payments are processed by Razorpay, a payment gateway. You pay in Razorpay's own payment window, and your card, UPI or bank details go to Razorpay. They never reach us.

You can pay by any method the payment window offers you. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: whether cards issued outside India are accepted]

By tapping Pay you agree to these terms and to our Refunds & cancellation policy.

When your booking is confirmed

Nothing is held for you while you fill in the form or while the payment window is open. Your seats become yours when the payment gateway confirms your payment and we have checked it: the amount, the order, and that the money was actually taken.

When that happens you see your booking code on screen, and your ticket goes to the email address you gave us.

If you close the payment window without paying, nothing is charged. Tapping Pay again reopens the same order for the same amount, so you cannot be charged twice for it.

If your payment went through but the confirmation is slow to reach us, you don't need to pay again. We check with the payment gateway and confirm your booking from there, and your ticket reaches you by email either way.

A checkout that is started and never paid is not a booking. After a day, we stop waiting for it.

If the last seat went a moment before you

Seats are only taken when a payment is confirmed, so two people can pay for the last seat within seconds of each other. The first payment confirmed gets the seat. If it isn't yours, we refund your payment in full, automatically, as soon as we find out, and the checkout tells you so.

The same applies if a class is called off between the moment you start paying and the moment your payment arrives. How refunds reach you is in Refunds & cancellation.

Your ticket

Your ticket lives at a web address with your booking code in it, linked from the email we send. It shows the class, the date and time, the address, the names on your seats and what was paid, including a GSTIN if you gave one. It never shows your email address or phone number.

Anyone who has your booking code or ticket link can open your ticket. Share it with the people coming and nobody else.

Paying does not sign you in to anything. To see all your bookings, go to My tickets and we will email a six digit code to the address you booked with. The code works for ten minutes, on the browser that asked for it, and keeps you signed in on that browser for thirty days.

Changes you ask for

If you can't make it, tap Can't make it? on your ticket, or message us with your booking code. It reaches a person, and nothing on your booking changes until they reply.

We can move your booking to another date of the same course, if that date has seats. We email you the new details and your ticket updates to match. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: whether a price difference between two dates is charged or refunded]

To change a name on the roll, reply to your ticket email or message us. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: whether a seat can be handed to someone else, and until how close to the class]

Cancelling for a refund is covered in Refunds & cancellation.

If we change or cancel a class

Sometimes we have to call a class off. If we do, we email everyone holding a seat and refund what they paid in full, GST included. If you would rather move to another date of the same course, reply to that email and we will move you instead.

[CLIENT TO CONFIRM: whether BeanWise may change the date, time, venue or instructor of a class, how much notice it gives, and what the buyer may choose if it does]

How the class is delivered

Nothing is shipped. A class is delivered in person, at the venue, on the date and at the time on your ticket.

Your ticket is delivered by email as soon as your booking is confirmed, and it is always at its web address.

Please arrive ten minutes early, because we start on time. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: what happens if someone arrives late or does not come]

In the Lab

Classes use hot water, steam, commercial espresso machines and grinders. Follow the instructor's lead, and tell us before the class about any allergy or condition we should know about, including to milk or caffeine.

[CLIENT TO CONFIRM: any house rules or safety conditions for the Lab, and what happens if someone is asked to leave]

Our responsibility to you

We take reasonable care to run every class safely and as described. Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

[CLIENT TO CONFIRM: limitation of liability wording, to be drafted by the lawyer]

Questions and complaints

Our grievance officer is [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: grievance officer's name, designation, email and phone]. We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within one month.

If you are not satisfied, you can contact the National Consumer Helpline on 1915 or 1800-11-4000, or at consumerhelpline.gov.in.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of India. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: which courts have jurisdiction, for example the courts at Bengaluru]

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The terms in force when you booked apply to that booking. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: how a change to these terms applies to bookings already made] The date at the top of the page says when they last changed.
